KSS-1 – for cleaning and passivating stainless steel, light, and non-ferrous metals

VABcleaner KSS-1 is a biodegradable, liquid, concentrated, mildly acidic detergent suitable for ultrasonic cleaning, immersion washing, or manual washing of stainless steel, light metals, and non-ferrous materials (stainless steel, aluminum, copper, brass, glass, plastic, etc.), as well as for passivation of stainless steels, aluminum, and metals containing chromium. After washing, it restores the shine to copper and brass.

Its specially developed formula does not diminish the propagation of ultrasonic waves, ensuring full ultrasonic cleaning effectiveness.

Passivation of stainless steel is based on removing iron atoms from the surface of items, thereby increasing the concentration of chromium atoms on the surface.

• For ultrasonic cleaning: Prepare a solution with a concentration of 2% to 5% using deionized or demineralized water. The recommended operating temperature is between 40°C and 60°C. Cleaning time is from 2 to 5 minutes.
• For immersion or manual washing: Prepare a solution with a concentration of 5% to 15%, depending on the degree of contamination, material type, and other factors. The recommended operating temperature of the solution is between 40°C and 60°C. Cleaning time is from 3 to 10 minutes. The pH value of the working solution is 2.5 – 3.
• For passivation: Prepare a solution with a concentration of 10% to 20%. The operating temperature of the solution is between 40°C and 60°C. Passivation time is between 10 to 30 minutes. Passivation is recommended after cleaning the metal from which mineral oils or greases have been removed. For steel AISI 316, the passivation time at a working solution temperature of 70°C is 20 minutes.

This product is classified as hazardous because it may cause eye irritation. Always use protective goggles and gloves when handling this product.

• Specific gravity of the product: 1.085 g/ml
• The detergent is light blue in color with a mild vanilla scent.
• pH of the concentrate: 1.6
• Does not contain phosphates or silicates. Contains citric acid.

This detergent is biodegradable, and after neutralization, the used working solution can be discharged into the municipal sewage system.

• Available in 5-liter and 10-liter containers.
• Store in original, tightly closed containers at temperatures between -5°C and 30°C, protected from heat sources and direct sunlight.
• Shelf life is 2 years from the production date.
• Transported as a non-hazardous material.
