PPK-1 cleaner – for cleaning parts made of cast iron and steel

PPK-1 is a concentrated industrial detergent, an alkaline liquid used for degreasing cast iron and steel parts (sheets, profiles, wires) from oil, oxidized, and natural fats, as well as after steel and sheet metal drawing, casting, and sintering processes, for base coat application, or when protecting items during interim storage. It disperses sediments and coke residues.

Degreasing and cleaning by immersion, pressure washing, or manual degreasing. Manual degreasing does not require any special equipment or workspaces, making it suitable for preparing surfaces of various constructions, machinery, equipment, fences, gates, metal furniture, and other metal parts for painting or plastification.

PPK-1 reacts with light and non-ferrous metals and their alloys (aluminum, copper, brass) and may damage their surfaces.

Degreasing is performed using a diluted solution, which is obtained by diluting PPK-1 with water. It is stable in hard water and dissolves well in cold water.

PPK-1 is a clear, alkaline liquid with a mild, pleasant odor. When diluted and used for degreasing, it has reduced foaming, which makes it suitable for high-pressure applications.

To prepare the working solution, dilute PPK-1 with water at room temperature or warm water (40°C to 45°C). The working concentration depends on the method of application and the degree of contamination (from 3% to 10% and more).

Mechanical removal of emulsified grease from the surface of the item is necessary. Therefore, degreasing cannot be performed by merely immersing and letting the item sit in the working solution. Increasing the temperature and pressure of the diluted solution shortens the degreasing time.

For maximum effect before degreasing, it is recommended to remove traces of dust, dirt, and surface corrosion from the item.

Dust and coarse dirt should be removed by blowing with compressed air, washing with a high-pressure water stream, or wiping with brushes or rags.

After degreasing and cleaning, for passivating iron or steel parts, immersion in a 1% solution (1 liter of PPK-1 to 99 liters of water) is required, followed by drying (air-drying at room temperature or in a flow of warm air at 110°C to 130°C).

PPK-1 is an alkaline product, and when working with it, proper protective measures must be used. The working solution for degreasing and cleaning by pressure washing, immersion, or manual degreasing has a pH of 12, so gloves and safety goggles are necessary to protect hands and eyes during use.

PPK-1 is packaged in plastic (PE or HDPE) containers and canisters. It should not be stored in areas with elevated temperatures, below 7°C, or in direct sunlight.
